Can I cancel or reschedule my TCF Canada booking?
Checked November 1, 2026
For a simple change of date, the handbook of France Éducation international (FEI) has no rule, so ask your centre. For force majeure (illness, public transport problem, strike, death of a relative, work obligation), give proof to the centre within 5 weeks of the session start date and you can get a refund or a transfer of your fees.
FEI’s rule
The candidate handbook gives a candidate absent for force majeure the right to ask for a refund or transfer of their registration fees. It names five cases, in FEI’s terms.
- Illness
- A public transport problem
- A strike
- Death of a relative
- A work obligation
The proof must reach the test centre within 5 weeks of the session start date. The centre then sends it to FEI.
What is not covered
- Arriving late. A late candidate is not admitted and not refunded, except in the force majeure cases above.
- Simply changing your mind. The handbook says nothing else. The centre handles your registration and payment, so ask for its terms before you pay.
- Results cancelled for fraud. You can sit the test again, but you pay new fees.
What to do
- Tell the centre in writing as soon as you know you can’t come.
- Gather the proof (medical certificate, employer letter, strike notice).
- Hand it to the centre well before the 5 weeks are up and keep proof you sent it.
- Say whether you want a refund or a transfer to another session.
If you reschedule, count the delays. Results arrive within 15 working days of FEI receiving the session material (registration and choosing a date). If you are far from the centre, ask whether the proof can be sent by email.
