What is on the TCF Canada results certificate and where do I download it?
Checked November 1, 2026
The results certificate (attestation) is a PDF you download from your TCF-Candidat account or collect from your centre. It shows your identity and photo, the certificate number, the issue date and the expiry date, your scores out of 699 and marks out of 20 with their CEFR level, and a QR code for authentication. It does not show NCLC levels.
What is on it
Based on the sample TCF Canada certificate published by FEI.
| Block | Content |
|---|---|
| Identity | Surname, first name, date of birth, candidate code, photo taken on exam day |
| Session | Centre, session date, results issue date, expiry date (« Expire le »), certificate number (« N° de l’attestation ») |
| Results | Listening and reading, score out of 699 and CEFR level. Speaking and writing, mark out of 20 and CEFR level |
| Footer | Box for your signature, small QR code to FEI’s help page |
The large QR code, middle right, authenticates the results. IRCC and Québec immigration officers also have access to an authentication platform for TCF certificates.
Where to get it
It comes with your results, within 15 working days of FEI receiving the session material (results delay).
- When the centre validates your session, you get an email from
noreply@france-education-international.frinviting you to create your TCF-Candidat account. Check your spam folder too. - You identify yourself with your date of birth, country of birth and the first 2 or 3 letters of your surname, with no space, apostrophe or hyphen.
- In that account you follow the marking, then see your results and download the certificate.
If the account will not open, or no email arrived, contact your test centre. The centre also receives every certificate as a PDF, and you can collect it there. If your name or date of birth is wrong on the certificate, contact the centre at once, because the certificate shows the details given at registration.
For Express Entry
The certificate gives scores and CEFR levels, not NCLC. Convert each result with IRCC’s table. IRCC asks you to enter the results in your profile, plus “the language test result form or certificate number and test PIN, if the system asks for it”. IRCC does not say which field of the TCF certificate it means. The number that identifies the document is the « N° de l’attestation », so it is very likely that one. Copy it exactly.
The date to watch is the expiry date, 2 years after issue. IRCC wants results less than 2 years old when you create your profile and when you apply (validity).
If writing is the skill below your target, NCLC Prep marks a writing task out of 20, with every mistake fixed.
