How long are TCF Canada results valid?
Checked November 1, 2026
A TCF Canada attestation is valid for 2 years from the date the results are issued, which is printed on it. Express Entry adds a stricter condition from IRCC. The results must be less than 2 years old when you complete your profile and again when you submit your permanent residence application.
In practice.
- FEI counts the 2 years from the issue date. IRCC’s page says only “less than 2 years old” and does not say which date it counts from, so leave a margin.
- A result that was fine when you built your profile can expire before you apply, if the invitation comes late or gathering documents takes time. IRCC refuses applications with expired results.
- If you see that coming, retake early. Two sittings must be 20 days apart, results take up to 15 working days from FEI’s receipt of the session material, and centres can sell out.
- Québec’s skilled worker program asks for results two years old or less at the date you apply. It has its own rules, so check the ministry page.
IRCC’s rules apply to Express Entry. Other programs may ask for something different, so read the page of the one you are applying to.
Dates, step by step, are in TCF Canada results and validity.
