Where to take TCF Canada in Côte d’Ivoire, what it costs and how to register

Checked November 3, 2026

170,000 FCFA for the four tests at the Institut français de Côte d’Ivoire, in Abidjan, according to the home page of its exam platform read on 3 November 2026, though another page of the same platform still says 150,000 FCFA. Registration lasts only 2 days and opens on the first day at 8 am, and the Institut warns that seats go fast. Both TCF Canada sessions listed, in November and from 1 to 10 December 2026, are marked registration closed, and no new date is published. After pre-registering, you pay in cash at an SGCI branch within 48 hours.

Fee

On the home page of the exam platform of the Institut français de Côte d’Ivoire (IFCI), TCF Canada costs 170,000 FCFA for the four compulsory tests, listening, reading, speaking and writing. TEF Canada costs the same. The “Je souhaite émigrer au Canada” page of the same platform still shows 150,000 FCFA. The exact amount is on the registration form, so budget 170,000 FCFA. TCF Québec and TCF tout public are paid test by test, but do not count for Express Entry.

Sessions

The platform calendar, read on 3 November 2026, showed two TCF Canada sessions.

Pre-registration Session Status
12 and 13 October 2026 9 to 27 November 2026 Registration closed
2 and 3 November 2026 1 to 10 December 2026 Registration closed

So pre-registration lasts two days, about a month before the session. The IFCI says no registration is possible outside these periods, that the platform opens on the first day at 8 am and that more sessions are being scheduled. Watch the calendar for the next date.

Steps

From the IFCI FAQ.

  1. Pre-register online on the first day, from 8 am. Seats are limited.
  2. Check the registration form you get by email, especially the choice of tests. The email may land in spam.
  3. Pay in cash at an SGCI branch (formerly SGBCI), within 48 hours, or 24 hours if you come off the waiting list. Print the form first.
  4. Send proof of payment. Without it, the registration is not confirmed.
  5. You get a confirmation within 48 hours, then the notice to attend at least a week before the session.

Each candidate needs their own email address, even a couple.

Rules

  • On computer. Listening and reading are multiple choice on computer, writing is typed on computer and speaking is with an examiner. For TCF Canada, your photo is taken on test day.
  • No late arrivals. Arrive 30 minutes before the first test, otherwise you may be refused.
  • Absence. A free re-registration is only possible with proof sent at least 48 hours before the test, and within 5 months.
  • Refunds. None for a fail, a wrong choice of test or lateness.
  • Waiting list. If candidates drop out, the IFCI confirms by email and SMS. After a week, register for another session.
  • 30 days before you can re-register for the same test. See retaking TCF Canada.
  • Results. A digital certificate by email, in about 15 working days for TCF Canada. It is valid for 2 years.

Before you pay

  1. The IFCI warns about fake sites selling certificates. Use only its exam platform and pay only at SGCI, as the registration form says.
  2. Book TCF Canada, not TCF Québec or TCF tout public.
  3. If you miss the two-day window, see no date available, or the Accra centre in TCF Canada in Ghana.

General steps are in how to register, and what the fee covers in TCF Canada price.

A seat is won in two days, so do not lose it in the writing test. Write a practice task to see your estimated mark before the next opening.
