Where to take TCF Canada in Rwanda, what it costs and how to register

At the Institut français du Rwanda, in Kigali, the only centre we found. On 3 November 2026 its online shop listed 320,000 FRW for TCF Canada, and the only session listed, on Saturday 5 December 2026, was full. You register online and pay by card or transfer within 3 days of the invoice. You need a valid passport if you are not Rwandan, and 20 days between two TCF Canada registrations.
Fee and session
On 3 November 2026, the shop of the Institut français du Rwanda (IFR) listed 320,000 FRW for TCF Canada, which the page describes with its four compulsory tests. The fee only shows in the shop, not on a fixed page, so confirm it when you pay. The IFR says it charges no extra registration fee.
The only session listed that day was Saturday 5 December 2026, marked “Complet” (full). The exam calendar pages were empty. Email reception to ask for the 2027 dates.
Registration
- Create a client account on the IFR site, pick the session and register.
- You get an invoice by email.
- Pay by card or transfer within 72 hours. The TCF page excludes cash and mobile money, and the rules also mention the BK Pay app. On the last day, proof of payment must arrive before 4 pm.
- Send the proof of payment to reception, then you get a receipt and your notice to attend.
The rules also ask you to email a copy of your ID.
Rules
From the course and exam rules in force since 1 January 2026.
- ID. A valid passport for candidates who are not Rwandan. Rwandans can show a passport, ID card, residence permit or driving licence.
- Wait between two registrations. 20 days for TCF Canada, TCF Québec and the TEF. The general rules are in retaking TCF Canada.
- Refunds. Amounts paid are not refundable, except in exceptional circumstances such as a work transfer abroad.
- Postponement. Only for a mission, illness with a medical certificate or bereavement, requested on exam day or within 24 hours. The new date must fall within 6 months, and only one postponement is allowed.
- Results. The TCF page says 2 to 3 weeks, the rules up to 4 weeks. Usual times are in results timing.
Before you pay
- Check on FEI’s TCF centre map that the IFR still offers TCF Canada.
- Pay only the IFR, never a middleman.
- If the session is full, look at Bujumbura in TCF Canada in Burundi, or read no date available.
With few sessions, it pays to arrive ready. Write a practice task to see your estimated writing mark before you register.
